Mark Garrett and I recently installed an awesome permaculture garden for a house at Green Villege in Bali Indonesia. When we arrived it was a bare landscape. There was plenty of erosion, the clay soil was dry and alkaline, and the beautiful bamboo house that sits on this property was in desperate need of a garden that both complemented its majesty and reflected sustainable values. Most of the landscaping was done by a different landscaper but the owner of this house wanted to transform a portion of his property into an abundant permaculture garden. The project took two months to complete. Now it is a lush landscape of leafy green asian vegetables, curly leaf lettuce, tomatos, chillies, eggplants, green beans, fruit trees, and a variety of herbs. Mark and I are working on a variety of projects in Bali and we hold weekly workshops at Bambu Indah every Wednesday at 1pm.
